About this opportunity

The Library of Congress Multimedia Group is seeking to replace its aging fleet of High Definition video cameras with new Sony equipment to maintain interoperability within their existing workflow. The procurement specifically requires five Sony FX6 Full-Frame Cinema Cameras and one Sony Burano Full-Frame Cinema Camera, along with comprehensive accessories including lenses, memory cards, tripods, headphones, and cases. This is a brand name procurement justified by the need for equipment compatibility with the Library's current fleet of Sony FX6 and Sony Venice cameras, as well as existing Vinten tripod infrastructure. The solicitation operates under lowest price technically acceptable evaluation criteria, where the Library will evaluate the two lowest-priced quotes for technical acceptability and may verify reseller authorization with Sony. The original quote submission deadline was June 13, 2025, but has been extended to June 17, 2025 at 5:00 PM Eastern Time following offeror questions.

This solicitation has no set-aside designation and is unrestricted to all qualified vendors. While no specific incumbent contractor is mentioned, the procurement represents a sole-source approach to Sony as the original equipment manufacturer due to technical compatibility requirements. The contract value exceeds $250,000 based on the justification documentation, though specific budget ranges are not disclosed in the pricing schedule template. The contract period of performance spans from September 30, 2025 to May 31, 2026, with all deliverables required within 120 days of contract award. All equipment and services will be performed in Washington, DC at the Library of Congress facility, supporting the Multimedia Group's ongoing video production capabilities.
