Responses cover specific equipment preferences such as using Vinten System Vision blue3 Head with Flowtech 75 Carbon Fiber Tripod, Porta-Brace Traveler-Style soft Carrying Cases, Pelican 1535Air Wheeled Carry-On Hard Cases, and Sigma Cine Lenses with E mount. Technical discussions include the need for a Chrosziel Zoomer Universal Servo Drive Motor for the 200-600mm lens, compatibility of Blue3 and Blue5 tripods for different camera weights, and confirmation of existing inventory for batteries and microphones. Attachment J-3 – Questions & Answers
1. Tripods, what are you looking for? Do you have a brand and model in mind, or a basic requirement?
• Currently, our existing FX6 camera kits use a Vinten System Vision blue3 Head with Flowtech 75 Carbon Fiber Tripod, Mid-Level Spreader, and Rubber Feet and it works well for us.
2. Cases for the cameras and lenses, what are you looking for? Hard shell plastic cases (like a Gator case), or something that is airline approved (ATA) or a soft case (Portabrace maybe?)? For the lenses, I see you are asking for 2 cases, do you have an idea of what lenses you want in each case? Same question as to type of case.
• Currently, our existing FX6 cameras use a Porta-Brace Traveler-Style soft Carrying Case, and it works well for us. For lenses, we currently use Pelican 1535Air Wheeled Carry-On Hard Cases with TrekPak Divider Inserts and they work well for us.
3. I noticed you did not request media card readers or v-mount batteries, and chargers.
Would you like to add these items to your quote? If so which items, and quantity?
• Correct, we did not request any of these items as we have existing inventory
4. The tripod that best fit your description was the Sachtler 8T aktiv. Saying that, vertical tilt is +90° to -70°, not the requested -90 to +90 degrees. I could not locate a head with that capability that would fit on a flowtec 75mm bowl head. None the less, it’s a great tripod and fits your other descriptions.
• Currently, our existing FX6 camera kits use a Vinten System Vision blue3 Head with Flowtech 75 Carbon Fiber Tripod, Mid-Level Spreader, and Rubber Feet and it works well for us.
5. For “C.3.4 Camera Lens – 200-600mm Two (2) Sony FE 200-600mm f/5.6-6.3 G OSS Lenses. Each lens must include a support plate, rods, and any external servos need to control Zoom and Focus with the Sony FX6 cameras listed in C.3.1.” This is a photo lens and does not need any of the parts.
• It is our understanding that an external servo drive motor is required for the FX6 to control the optics of this lens. Our research has identified a Chrosziel Zoomer Universal Servo Drive Motor as a potential solution, which would also require corresponding rods and plates.
6. There was also a v-mount ac adapter charger that was requested. That item I could not find, but you can power the Burano with a 4-pin xlr cable to AC. I added the item to your quote.
• Currently, we use a Sony ACD-N10A AC Adapter/Charger with other similar cameras, and it works well for us.

7. I’m working on this request and have a question on these items:
Prime Lens - 35mm Prime Lens -65mm Do you have a particular brand in mind? [Zeiss or Tokina ]
• Currently, we use Sigma Cine Lenses (with E mount) and they work well for us.
8. 1 extra battery per camera?
• Not necessary as we have existing spare inventory
Which model mic –there are several options and prices
• Currently, our existing FX6 cameras have a Sony ECM-VG1 Short Shotgun
Microphone and it works well for us.
9. The BLUE 3 tripod you mention on the responses only has a load capacity of 6.6 to 14lb?
I think you need BLUE 5 Load Capacity 12.1 to 26.5 Pounds
- For the FX6 cameras, we meant a Blue3. The offeror can quote a Blue5 which is still compatible. I think the offeror may be thinking of the Blue5 for the Burano camera which has a little more weight than the FX6’s.
