About this opportunity
The Department of Energy's Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory (PPPL) is soliciting a hazardous waste subcontractor to provide comprehensive management, transportation, and disposal services for hazardous waste materials at RCRA-permitted treatment, storage, and disposal facilities. The scope includes routine and emergency spill cleanup, vacuum truck services, waste sampling, and potential on-site waste management activities including collection, characterization, storage, and packaging. The contractor must comply with Service Contract Act wage requirements and work with PPPL pre-approved disposal facilities on an as-needed basis. A mandatory pre-proposal teleconference is scheduled for September 15, 2025, at 1:30 PM, with proposals due by 4:00 PM on October 8, 2025. Offerors are strongly encouraged to review prequalification information in Section III and complete the RFP acknowledgment form before submitting proposals.
This solicitation does not utilize any set-aside designations and will be structured as a Basic Ordering Agreement with a two-year base term and options for three additional 12-month periods, totaling up to five years. Individual task orders are capped at $250,000 each, though PPPL does not guarantee a minimum number of orders, with quantities and transportation units varying based on laboratory needs. The work will be performed at PPPL's James Forrestal Campus in Middlesex County, New Jersey. The solicitation falls under NAICS code 562211 for Hazardous Waste Treatment and Disposal and PSC code F108 for Environmental Remediation services. No incumbent contractors are identified in the available documentation, and the flexible nature of the agreement suggests variable workload and compensation based on actual service requirements.
