The Department of the Interior National Park Service National Office seeks replacement of HVAC systems at Monocacy National Battlefield Visitor Center in Frederick, Maryland, with proposals due September 23, 2026 at 2:00 PM Eastern Time. The procurement is a total small business set-aside.
Place of performance is Frederick, Maryland. The contractor must hold a minimum of 10 years of HVAC experience and must be licensed in electrical, pipefitting, plumbing, and HVAC trades. Work scope includes relocating and replacing one York 15-ton DX air conditioning split system, replacing an existing Weil McLain 230k BTU boiler, replacing one Liebert 12k BTU system, and replacing one Liebert 18k BTU split system. Optional work includes providing and connecting temporary air conditioning with up to 8 months of rental. The contract period of performance runs from September 23, 2026 to May 23, 2027, with standard operating hours 6:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays and July 9th (Battle Anniversary).
New equipment must be replaced like-in-kind with sizing matching existing units, maintain equivalent latent characteristics including humidity control, meet minimum efficiency ratings, and be compatible with existing Siemens controls. The contractor is responsible for controls integration using a qualified Siemens integrator. All work must conform to IBC codes. The contractor must restore the site including turf restoration with Maryland State Certified seed mix. All materials and labor carry a one-year warranty from final inspection. The contractor assumes full responsibility for damages to government property and for disposal of hazardous materials and construction waste.
