About this opportunity
Veterans Integrated Service Network 20 (VA Puget Sound Health Care System) intends to solicit fire and smoke door inspection, testing, repair, and certification services across American Lake and Seattle VA Medical Center campuses, with responses due by August 13, 2026. No set-aside is anticipated. Place of performance spans both facilities: American Lake VA Medical Center (Tacoma, Washington) and Seattle VA Medical Center (Seattle, Washington).
The contractor must conduct comprehensive inspection and testing of all swinging, vertical, and horizontal fire and smoke door assemblies at both campuses in compliance with NFPA 80 and NFPA 105 standards, including interior and exterior doors, frames, hardware, closers, coordinators, hinges, latching devices, gasketing, and seals. Services include initial inventory assessment (45 calendar days from award), annual 100-percent inspection and testing, deficiency reporting with NFPA code references and priority levels, repair completion within 30 calendar days of authorization with life-safety deficiencies reported within 24 hours, and post-repair certification and re-inspection. Inspection reports, deficiency reports, and certification reports are due within 10, 15, and 10 business days respectively. The contractor must comply with VA security protocols, including technician identification badges and physical security coordination, and furnish all labor, materials, equipment, and supervision. Performance standards require 100 percent compliance for inventory completion, inspection completion, documentation accuracy, and life-safety notifications, with 95 percent compliance for report submission and repair completion timelines. The Government reserves the right to conduct random inspections of at least 10 percent of inspected door assemblies annually at no additional cost to the contractor.
