About this opportunity

The Department of Justice Bureau of Prisons Field Acquisition Office is conducting a Sources Sought Notice for comprehensive medical services at the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) in Edgefield, South Carolina. The procurement will cover a range of medical services including inpatient and outpatient facility services, inpatient and outpatient physician services, and outpatient institutional services for adults in custody. The NAICS code for this opportunity is 622110 (General Medical and Surgical Hospitals) with a size standard of $47 million. Interested parties must submit their Sources Sought Questionnaire responses by December 12, 2024, directly to Kristen Fisher via email at kmfisher@bop.gov. All future information about the acquisition will be distributed exclusively through the System for Award Management (SAM) database, and contractors must be registered in SAM to be considered.

The anticipated contract structure includes a base year from the effective date of award, followed by four potential 12-month option periods for renewal. The government will utilize Medicare reimbursement rates as a pricing benchmark, allowing offerors to propose discounts or premiums to these rates. While no specific set-aside has been designated for this opportunity, the Sources Sought Notice indicates that this is a preliminary market research phase to assess potential contractor capabilities. The government has not committed to issuing a formal solicitation, and no reimbursement will be provided for information submitted in response to this notice. Contractors interested in this potential opportunity should carefully monitor SAM.gov for updates and ensure they meet the NAICS size standard and have the capability to provide comprehensive medical services in a correctional facility setting.
