About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Integrated Service Network 7, is seeking quotations for Equipment Surveys and Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) Services to support the Central Alabama Veterans Health Care System across five geographically dispersed VA facilities in Alabama and Georgia. The procurement requires a certified medical physicist to perform testing and certification of imaging equipment, including annual medical physics surveys for diagnostic radiology, CT, MRI, nuclear medicine, and special procedures, along with a qualified Radiation Safety Officer and MRI Safety Officer to provide support services. Key requirements include shielding integrity evaluations, room scatter surveys, quarterly radiation safety committee meetings, emergency response availability, and protocol reviews in compliance with FDA, state, JCAHO, and ACR standards. The vendor must provide all equipment except phantoms, deliver their own transportation at no additional cost, furnish survey results within seven working days, and provide unlimited duplicate reports within 24 hours. The base contract period runs from August 15, 2026, through August 14, 2027, with four one-year option periods available. The vendor must maintain general liability insurance of $500,000 per occurrence, workers' compensation coverage, and automobile liability insurance.
