About this opportunity
The Department of the Interior Bureau of Indian Education seeks removal, disposal, and installation of a commercial-grade electric steamer at BIE Isleta Elementary School in Albuquerque, New Mexico, with quotes due June 29, 2026. This is an Indian Small Business Economic Enterprise (ISBEE) set-aside under the Buy Indian Act, restricting competition to Indian Economic Enterprises that also qualify as small business concerns.
Place of performance is 1000 Moonlight Drive, Albuquerque, NM 87105. The contractor must install a new boilerless electric convection steamer (AccuTemp Model E62083E100 SGL or approved equal) with minimum capacity of six 12-inch by 20-inch by 2-1/2-inch deep pans, operating at 208V, 60 Hz, 3-phase, 10 kW with NEMA L15-30P plug. Equipment must comply with UL listing, cULus, NSF/ANSI sanitation requirements, and ENERGY STAR efficiency standards where available. The steamer must also conform to the National Electrical Code, International Mechanical Code, International Plumbing Code, OSHA requirements, and the Indian Affairs Design Handbook for BIE School Facilities.
Contractor responsibilities include pre-installation coordination, safe disconnection and disposal of the existing steamer, installation with startup service and operator orientation, electrical verification, plumbing and drainage connections, testing and commissioning, quality control, and submission of closeout documentation including product data, warranty information, O&M manuals, and as-installed certification. The contractor must provide workmanship warranty covering installation defects and manufacturer warranties for all components.
Performance period is July 1 through August 31, 2026, with 60 calendar days allowed from Notice to Proceed. NAICS 561210 applies with a $47 million size standard. Award will be made on a Lowest Priced Technically Acceptable basis. Quotes must be firm-fixed, all-inclusive of Federal, State, and local taxes and duties, and submitted by email only to michelle.nahlee@bie.edu. All quoted products must be fully manufactured and available for immediate delivery; refurbished, grey market, backorder, or manufacturing items are not acceptable.
