About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Pacific Air Forces is seeking contractors to perform specialized alternator inspections on four power plant generators at Eareckson Air Station in Alaska. The contract requires disassembly, inspection, and reassembly of alternators on specific gensets (serial numbers NKB00320, NKB00317, NKB00315, and NKB00316) in accordance with Kato Engineering Manual and UFC 3-540-07 Operations and Maintenance standards. Contractors must provide all materials, equipment, labor, and transportation, conduct voltage checks and load tests as necessary, document findings with photographic evidence, and submit weekly progress reports. The procurement will be evaluated using a Lowest Price Technically Acceptable (LPTA) method, assessing technical capability, price, and past performance factors. Proposals are due by September 12, 2025 at 2:00 PM Alaska Time, with offerors required to submit a 20-page technical proposal demonstrating understanding of the Performance Work Statement and provide examples of recent federal government projects.
This opportunity is designated as a total small business set-aside with a NAICS code of 811310 and a size standard of $12,500,000. The contract period of performance runs from September 30, 2025 through December 31, 2025, with all inspection work required to be completed by December 31, 2025. The work will be performed at the remote Eareckson Air Station in Alaska, specifically in Power House Building B3049, presenting significant logistical challenges due to the station's extremely remote location with 1950s-1960s era facilities and frequent inclement weather that can interrupt access for weeks. Contractors must coordinate with the Base Operations Support contractor for potential engine disassembly assistance and comply with strict base access requirements, including submitting a Site Arrival Request at least 14 days prior to travel. The solicitation emphasizes the challenging environmental conditions and limited support infrastructure available at this isolated Alaskan location.
