Added: Aug 05, 2011 7:59 am The Naval Air Systems Command competitively awarded a firm fixed price requirements contract to General Atomics Systems Integration, LLC, for the design, implementation, evaluation, testing, kitting and sparing of lighter brakes, wheels, radial tires and Brakes Temperature Monitoring System for the E-6B fleet. Work is expected to be completed in September 2015.

The final Request for Proposal (RFP) E-6 Brakes Modification N00019-09-R-0296 has been posted. All proposals must be received no later than 6 May 2010 at 2:30 pm Eastern Standard Time.

Added: Sep 03, 2009 4:29 pm Modified: Apr 06, 2010 2:49 pmTrack Changes Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) has a requirement to integrate carbon brakes, new wheels that support the installation of carbon brakes, and radial tires onto the United States (US) Navy model E-6 aircraft and potentially other Government aircraft models with brake system designs similar to that of the E-6 aircraft. The Contractor shall conduct an engineering analysis, qualification testing, develop design changes and perform integration to modify and incorporate C/KC- 135 Carbon Brakes on the E-6 aircraft. NAVAIR intends to award, via full and open competition, a contract with fixed price and cost type CLINs. This contract will have a four (4) month base period to perform engineering analysis and two option periods for assembly, qualification testing, integration and installation. The formal Request for Proposal (RFP) release will occur on or about 23 October 2009 with proposals due on or about 23 November 2009. NAVAIR is providing the following information for industry consideration and and comment: (1) DRAFT E-6 Carbon Brakes Statement of Work (SOW) and (2) DRAFT Section B. The Government would like to receive any comments and questions with regard to these draft documents NLT 2 October 2009. Interested parties are asked to provide any comments or questions in writing to Meghan Huett, Contract Specialist, via e-mail, meghan.huett@navy.mil. Please CC: David Dotson, Procuring Contracting Officer, david.h.dotson@navy.mil. No telephone inquiries will be accepted. AT THIS TIME, NO SOLICITATION DOCUMENTS EXIST. This presolicitation announcement is not a contract, or a commitment of any kind. The Navy will NOT assume liability for costs incurred by any offeror for travel expenses, presentations, marketing efforts or data offered for examination; therefore, the cost of preparing information in response to this notice is not considered an allowable direct charge to the Government.
