About this opportunity
The Naval Medical Research Command has issued a Special Notice for the sole source procurement of maintenance services for Draeger Apollo anesthesia equipment. The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command intends to award this contract directly to Draeger, Inc., located in Telford, Pennsylvania, though they will consider responses from other interested parties. The contract covers maintenance and repairs for seven Apollo Anesthesia Machines and their associated components, including Infinity C700 monitors, Infinity Delta XL monitors, and Vapor 2000-ISO vaporizers. The equipment is located at the Naval Medical Research Unit San Antonio at Joint Base San Antonio Fort Sam Houston, Texas. The notice was posted on July 28, 2025, with responses due by August 1, 2025.
The primary objective of this procurement is to secure comprehensive maintenance services for critical medical equipment over a 36-month period, consisting of a 12-month base period with two 12-month option periods. The contract requires two annual preventive maintenance sessions for the anesthesia machines, one annual maintenance for each monitor and vaporizer, and unlimited on-site service calls with a mandatory 48-hour response time. Contractors must provide certified technicians and submit detailed service reports through the WAWF invoice system. Eligibility is effectively limited to Draeger, Inc., as their sole source notification emphasizes that only Draeger-trained technicians with current factory certification can safely service these critical life-sustaining medical devices, and third-party providers cannot guarantee the same safety standards or maintain equipment warranties. The stringent requirements reflect the critical nature of anesthesia equipment in medical operations and patient safety considerations.
