About this opportunity

The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) at Patuxent River, Maryland is conducting early market research for the Coalition Affordable Maritime Strike (CAMS) weapon system. NAVAIR seeks capable sources to rapidly develop, integrate, prototype, test, qualify, and initially field CAMS, a short to mid-range maritime strike weapon system for use by international partners. Key requirements include a model-based systems engineering approach, compliance with WSESRB safety standards, a minimum 140NM range, and compatibility with the Weapon Open System Architecture. Interested companies are encouraged to participate in an industry day event in late August 2024, where NAVAIR will provide more details and hold one-on-one discussions. Written feedback is requested by August 30, 2024.

This is an unrestricted procurement, with no incumbent or current contractor identified. The CAMS program aims to have production capability in place by 2027, with an affordability target of $1.5M per all-up round and a minimum full rate production of 250 units per year. The contracting strategy has not been finalized, but NAVAIR is exploring various solutions, including the potential use of consortia or Other Transaction Authorities, to accelerate the acquisition timeline.
