About this opportunity
The U.S. Forest Service is issuing a pre-solicitation notice for the Cedar DxP IRSC (Integrated Resource Stewardship Contract) on the Willamette National Forest. The contract aims to reduce the risks of hazardous fuels along important access routes affected by the 2022 Cedar Creek fire to restore access to the area. Key work requirements include cutting and removing timber within 100 feet of roads, felling hazardous trees, slash disposal, road reconstruction and maintenance, and delivering logs for habitat restoration. The solicitation will be issued the week of August 12, 2024 and awarded using a best value source selection method as a firm fixed price commercial services contract.
The entire project area is estimated at 3,308 acres, with 150,723 tons of sawtimber/biomass in the roadside units and 2,910 tons of biomass in the Waldo Lake units. There is no set-aside designation. A pre-solicitation site visit is scheduled for August 9, 2024. Bid guarantees and payment/performance bonds will be required for the road construction work, which is estimated to be a significant portion of the contract value. The planned period of performance extends through October 15, 2029.
