About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command has issued a Special Notice for a sole source contract with Advanced Solutions Life Sciences in Louisville, Kentucky. The notice concerns the procurement of specialized biomedical research equipment for the Naval Medical Research Unit San Antonio (NAMRU-SA). Specifically, the contract involves acquiring multiple BioAssemblyBot pipette and liquid handling components, including a single channel pipette, 8-channel pipette, liquid handling bundle, and single cell dispense hand. The equipment is intended to support research and development projects in areas such as combat casualty care, craniofacial research, and directed energy initiatives. The contract is designed to enhance interoperability with existing BioAssemblyBot 500 equipment currently in use at the research facility.
The primary objective of this Special Notice is to procure essential research equipment with a comprehensive installation and support package. The contract has a one-year period of performance, running from the date of award, with a targeted delivery to NAMRU-SA at 4141 Petroleum Road, Building 3260, JBSA Fort Sam Houston, TX. While the notice indicates a sole source intent with Advanced Solutions Life Sciences, the government remains open to considering alternative responses from other potential contractors. The equipment specifications are highly technical, requiring features such as vertical dispense capabilities, automatic liquid level detection, compatibility with various pipette tip sizes, and single cell dispensing with 75% efficiency. Contractors interested in responding must submit their proposals by May 2, 2025, and should carefully review the attached Performance Work Statement for detailed equipment and service requirements. The procurement falls under the NAICS category of All Other Industrial Machinery Manufacturing and is not subject to any specific set-aside restrictions.
