About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Air Education and Training Command seeks design, procurement, and installation of two motorized electric gates for munitions security at Maxwell AFB, Alabama, with proposals due September 25, 2026. The procurement is a 100% Small Business Set-Aside, limited to SAM.gov-registered vendors, with award on a firm-fixed-price basis to the lowest-priced offeror meeting minimum requirements.
Place of performance is Maxwell AFB, Alabama. The requirement includes one 21-foot by 7-foot metal chain-link gate with round metal frame and motor located north of Building 1286, and one 25-foot by 7-foot gate with identical construction located north of Buildings 1281 and 1282. Both gates require keypad controls enabling munitions drivers to open and close gates remotely from vehicles. Gates must operate as single sliding gates (not bi-parting), with automatic closing after each passage and two keypads per location mounted on the driver's side. No brand or manufacturer restrictions apply; commercial-grade gate operators meeting project requirements are acceptable.
All electrical installations must be performed by certified electricians in compliance with NFPA 70. Power for the 25-foot gate draws from Building 1281 or 1282 electrical panels with underground concrete/asphalt cutting for below-grade ducting; power for the 21-foot gate comes from Building 1286 with direct burial in dirt. The contractor shall coordinate with 42nd Civil Engineering for temporary power connections, attend a mandatory site visit on September 21, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. CDT, and complete startup and commissioning within one day of contract execution. Overall project completion is 60 calendar days. Contractor must provide manufacturer warranties, as-built drawings, and certifications. Performance and payment bonds are required at 100 percent of contract price. Liquidated damages are $834.00 per calendar day. Small business size standard is $19 million under NAICS 238990. Subcontracting limitations cap services and supplies to non-similarly situated entities at 50 percent. Delivery is FOB Destination to 908th Maintenance Squadron, Building 1281. Contact: 1st Lt Easton Flamand (Contract Specialist) and Darrell Ladnier (Contracting Officer).
