About this file

This document is a facility management and safety instruction guide for the Fire Suppression System (FSS) in Building 55350, EMETF Data Center Room 163, transmitter #1175 at Fort Huachuca.

The FSS utilizes model FST-951 detectors, with seven units mounted beneath the raised floor and nine in the ceiling throughout the data center. Floor tiles marked with "SD" labels and additional tape labeled "Suppression System Det." indicate detector locations. Before conducting cleaning or maintenance activities that may disturb the system, personnel must contact the Fort Huachuca Fire Alarm station at 533-5059 and allow five minutes or the time allotted by the dispatcher. To prevent accidental discharge, the suppression alarm must be disabled by turning the key on the suppression disconnect switch near the tanks to "Disarmed." All detectors exposed to dust or environmental elements must be covered during cleaning, then uncovered after completion and dust clearance. The alarm must clear before the switch is returned to "Armed" position. After re-arming, personnel must contact the Fire Alarm Department at 533-5059 to restore the system to normal operations. The alarm system may require reset through the EMETF system in room 108 office before resetting the Data Center FSS alarm. Special Systems contact Scott Pearce (378-3154 ext 4) is available for local Sierra Vista support. FSS inspections are required every six months.
