About this file
This document is an amendment to a solicitation for the design-build of the Vandenberg Gate Complex project at Hanscom Air Force Base. The amendment provides responses to requests for information to clarify project requirements. Specifically, contractors are only required to provide infrastructure to support electronic security, access control, and CCTV systems and are not responsible for providing the systems themselves. Additionally, no specific brick is mandated for building facades and contractors should match existing materials. The scope of work involves designing and constructing a new access control facility to current anti-terrorism standards to improve security and traffic flow at the base's main entrance. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers District in New England issued the solicitation and will oversee the project.

SUMMARY OF CHANGES
The following have been added by full text:
AMENDMENT 0002 RFI
1. I viewed the plans and specs on this and saw the brick veneer called out but did not seem to see a specific brick specified. Wanted to see if there is any additional information on a specified brick or if the brick is meant to match some existing material? If it is to match existing?
GOVERNMENT RESPONSE:
A specific brick has not been identified. Refer to Part 3 paragraph 2.3.
2. Section G4030 of Part 3 of the RFP for the Vandenberg Gate Complex states “Provide a site communication and security system including, but not necessarily limited to, Voice and Data Telecommunications Systems, and Cable Television (CATV) Systems;” however Section G403002 says that Cable TV Systems (CATV) are Not Applicable. Is the bidding contractor required to provide a Cable TV (CATV) System and if so, to what extent?
CATV is not required. However, CCTV (Closed Circuit TV) is required as part of the ESS (Electronic Security System). Per the RFP (Part 3, paragraph 5.4), the ESS Equipment will be provided, installed and integrated with the Installation's central monitoring system (Building 1725) by others. The bidding contractor is required to provide the site communication and security infrastructure and fiber to support the ESS. Refer to Part 3 G403006.
3. All thorough Part 3 of the RFP, we are told that we are providing infrastructure only for Electronic Security Systems (ESS) including Access Control, Intrusion Detection and CCTV. In Part 4 C102007 1.1.4, we are told to provide a card key type access control system and alarm on all emergency exit doors, compatible with Hanscom AFB Standard. Is the bidding contractor required to supply a complete access control card key and alarm system or just infrastructure for this system? If required to provide equipment, please advise Hanscom AFB Standards for this system.
The bidding contractor is only required to supply the infrastructure to support the system. Refer to Part 3 paragraph 5.4.
