Page 12 of Section 265600, issued with Amendment 01, contains a map. On the map it states "Remove and Replace with Sidewalks" with bold dark lines and bold green lines. Is this map simply to show the area or work or something else. Are we to remove and replace sidewalks? If so, what are the bold black lines and bold green lines indicating?
This map is shown in Section 265600 LIGHTING to indicate the areas that are to get new lighting. Contractor shall use this layout to prepare lighting plans for the project. There are no sidewalks to be “Removed & Replaced” as part of this project.
Do not consider the dark black line and green line as part of this project. Use the plan to assess locations for new lighting.
Section 265600 para 1.2.2 discusses the need for "primarily street lighting and other areas shall require sidewalk illumination." However, it also states "Also, provide for exterior lighting for ne "Perimeter Loop" layout per attached plan." What is meant by "Perimeter Loop"?
Are the forty-five (45) exterior street lights and additional eighty-five
(85) exterior sidewalk illumination pole mounted fixtures mentioned in this paragraph additional as part of the "Perimeter Loop" or are these
(45) street lights and (85) sidewalk lights estimates of what will be needed in total for the entire project inclusive of the "Perimeter Loop", streets and sidewalks in the work area?
Paragraph 1.2.2 says: “…..Also, provide for exterior lighting for new “Perimeter Loop” layout per attached plan. Provide for approximately forty-five (45) exterior street lights where designated by lighting professional design. Provide for an additional forty-five (45) exterior sidewalk illumination pole mounted fixtures.”
That’s a total of ninety (90) overall lighting fixtures that are intended to be included for all of the lighting for the work area based on a lighting professional design that is to be accepted by CES and Base Commander. The Perimeter Loop is the area that’s going to be revised by Civil Engineering. CES will be changing sidewalks, etc.
Use that layout when locating the new street lights and pedestrian walkway lights.

Please refer to Q&A #40, #57 and #58. Please provide a LF of asbestos piping removal to be carried for the purpose of this bid. If there is no known information provided for the contractor, how is the contractor supposed to provide an accurate competitive bid? Could this be handled as an allowance in the bid?
As a follow up to the reference of asbestos pipe lagging on old steam plant piping, it has since been determined that there was no asbestos containing material (ACM) on any of the outside piping that originated from the old steam plant. The asbestos HM was only located inside the plant itself and has since been removed over 15 years ago. For purposes of this contract, there is no need to include any associated cost for asbestos removal in the vicinity of the project associated with the old steam plant. It’s also been determined that piping associated with the former steam plant was located in excess of 15 feet below grade.

Please clarify Answer 60 Note to bidders. Are the soil borings required to classify the soil or to locate the underground utilities. Is the intent of
Contractor shall be responsible for soil borings to assist him/her in locating underground equipment. You’d want to know if you’re dealing with heavy rock material or soils that this note to say the contractor id responsible for all "potholing" to locate existing utilities? It is confusing because utility locating and removal and replacement of soils don't have anything to do with one another.
can easily be removed when locating manholes, etc. Not doing soil borings is the contractor’s prerogative.
Regarding the lighting plan: It is cut off and it is color coded but doesn`t tell us what colors mean.

RFI #44 response confirms that Pole R3 cutouts are to be refed from SGR-2. This will require a 15KV switch / fuse position at SGR-2 to be the source for refeed to Pole R3. The Electric One Line Plan does not show this refeed. Is this feed to share a position on SGR-2 or does SGR- 2 need an additional switch / fuse position added?
SGR-2 will require an additional switch/fuse position added

The same issue is also present at SGR-6. Note #15 on Existing Removals Plan states “Provide new Riser at this pole (OC-23) from underground primary Switchgear..” This will require a 15KV switch / fuse position at SGR-6 to be the source for refeed to Pole OC-23. The Electric One Line Plan does not show this refeed. Is this feed to share position on SGR-6 or does SGR-6 need an additional switch / fuse position added?
SGR-6 will require an additional switch/fuse position added

Bid form only has two items for the project on the solicitation. As part of Addendum #2 we are asked to provide 3 light fixture options which have different costs. How should these be presented on the form?
Bids shall have a lighting option included that has been identified in the plan as acceptable. Multiple lighting options are not necessary.
Should we carry the lowest in our bid and inched a sheet with the adders for the others?
