Q. The only EPA approved method for PFOA, PFOS is 537.1. That is a drinking water method.

Since this is wastewater would a NELAP approved method for a modified 537 method be acceptable? If so, is there a required reporting limit? I want to ensure that the lab chosen meets the required reporting limit for their modified method?

A. The DEC branch that is involved with our situation will not allow the Town of New Windsor to accept any discharge unless the PFOA/PFOS are at non-detect levels. You are correct, those are drinking water standards and that is what they are holding us to currently.

Q. Is there any analytical that we can review? TSS, TOC, metals?

A. Only COD levels that were answered in previous questions – Only tested for COD, 3700 mg/L on 1/12/17

Q. Are the lagoons treated for algae?

A. No they are not.

Q. I understand that the discharge requirements for this project are for PFOA and PFOS only to be non-detect. We will not be required to test for any other analytes?

A. Only PFOA/PFOS and COD level. The COD level determines the release rate as the town can only handle a certain level so it does not damage their active system.
