The drawings have been reposted to the appropriate size. Please verify scales on all drawings.

As well as upgrades to

June 18, 2014 – ADDENDUM No. 2

VBDZ132003

The following Addendum contains clarifications and revisions to the construction documents issued for bid

May 21, 2014 for the above mentioned project. This addendum forms a part of the Contract Documents and modifies all previously issued specifications and drawings. Bidders shall update their Bidding

Documents with the information contained in this Addendum. Where new Drawings are enclosed with this

Addendum, discard the old Drawing and insert the new. Where Supplemental drawings (Sketches) are enclosed with this Addendum, attach the Supplemental Drawing to the documents as noted. Where only written modifications are given, copy the information onto the appropriate Documents and note the

All replacement drawings are attached to this document and should be replaced in their entirety:

AD101, AD102, A004, A005, A101, A101.1, A101.2, A101.3, A101.4, A102, A102.2, A801, A802, A901 and A941.

Current RFI’s (Please find answers in bold text)

1. Please provide locations of all shear walls.

All shear walls have been indicated on S-201 with a crisscross hatch pattern.

2. Please confirm that the CMU masonry walls are to be grouted completely solid as per detail 2/S401.

Confirmed. CMU masonry walls should be grouted solid as per detail S/2-401.

3. Will you be providing a finish hardware spec? It is listed in the TOC but isn’t in the book.

Will be provided as part of addendum 02

4. Please provide a spec for the pass thru doors in the lab north M132 location.

Provided in Division 10 spec for Toilet and bath accessories.

5. Spec, Section 087100 “Door Hardware” Not in Spec Book & HardWare Colum on Door

Schedule is Blank. Please Clarify.

6. Spec.section 087100 door hardware is missing from the spec book and the door schedule on sheet A931 the hardware column is blank. Can you please find out about the hardware. I will need this to provide you with a quote.

7. Partition P on A002, for room 103, where are the half posts located and how many are needed?

Post are located on either side of wall opening and support the overhead coiling door.

8. Where do they show the canopy steel? A403 refers me to structural prints yet they don’t show the canopy.

All canopy steel and related items are to be provided by the canopy manufacturer as a performance based submittal. The call out should be ignored.

9. Can you provide a sign schedule. We are looking for how many and the size of the ADA signs. Thanks.

Should Match Base Standard.

10. Will a BOD or project budget be established for the finishes that the owner will be choosing. Reviewing the specs, there could be a large price swing depending on what type of flooring the owner ultimately chooses.

Specifications define finish performance requirements and types. Owner to approve color selections during the submittal process.

11. Detail 6 & 7 /A931 show wood casing around doors but there is nothing that specifies which doors are to receive this treatment. Can you please provide?

Not used

12. Is it possible to waste material (dirt, stone, etc) onsite or will it need to be hauled off?

No, all material must be taken off site

13. Section details on S401 & 402 show WWF and this is noted on S101. There are typical details on S701 for slab reinforcing at doors. Are we to provide both wire welded fabric and the rebar as shown in the typical details?

For the typical slab reinforcing door details on S-701 please provide both the welded wire fabric throughout the slab and the additional bent rebar shapes. As further clarification, welded wire fabric should be provided where the detail calls out “SEE

PLAN FOR SLAB THICKNESS AND REINFORCEMENT” even though it may be drawn as rebar on the detail.

14. Sheet S401 references to “see plan for reinforcement” concerning the lightweight concrete on the metal deck. Sheet A402 details 4 & 6 reference structural for the lightweight concrete. Can you please provide the reinforcement detail and thickness of the LW concrete required.

The thickness of LW concrete required is 2½” and sits on a 1½” depth 20 Gauge galvanized metal deck resulting in a total roof slab thickness of 4”. The LW concrete is reinforced with 6x6-W1.4xW1.4. This is all called out and detailed in Note #3 on S-201 and all sections on S-401.

15. Need clarification- A901 window schedule - denotes "Type mark" - B & C and Room

Darkening+Sunshade. I don't see any notations on plans. Are they as per spec looking for only the 5% light filtering fabric.

Type mark removed. All windows to receive window treatments as specified.
