SECTION 01 22 00.99 15 Page 3 overlaid with the theoretical levee template as described below. The Contractor shall perform surveys under the guidance of a Registered Land Surveyor and shall be conducted in the presence of the Contracting Officer. Surveys shall be taken immediately after slide excavation is complete. Each slide shall be identified by the slide number designation in the contract drawings. For each slide, the Contractor's surveyor shall establish an arbitrary benchmark for elevation and standalone baseline that coincides with the centerline of the levee and extends 25 feet beyond the limits of the slide excavation. Cross sections shall be taken every 25 feet along the baseline and at any abrupt change in topography. Cross sections taken at the beginning and ending baseline points, on undisturbed sections of levee, will serve as the theoretical levee construction grade template for its respective half of the excavated slide. Each cross sectional point shall be surveyed in the field to determine station, offset, and elevation. The survey notes for each slide shall be signed and dated by the in-field Surveyor, the Registered Land Surveyor overseeing the survey, and initialed by the Government representative present during the survey. Copies of field survey notes shall be furnished to the Government within 24 hours of completing the survey.
