Questions and Answers
1. When downloading the amendment documents, as noted in “Phase 2 Addendum No 01 BP9” ITEM NO. 2. SECTION 211316– DRY-PIPE SPRINKLER SYSTEMS was issued but did not see it in the attachments in Beta Sam. I was able to download item No. 1 but did not see an Item No 2. for download.
Answer: Item number 2 did not need to be downloaded, all of the added text was included in italics (and is part of the question submitted).
2. Is there an existing parking area that can be used by the contractor as a staging area to place construction trailer, equipment parking, storage container, etc.?
Answer: There is a Contractor laydown yard available, if requested by contractor. Size will be determined as needed, and site is to be maintained by contractor. No utility connections are available.
3. Will the hot water system use geothermal hot water assist?
Answer: No
4. On project #8 drawings” CAMP+ATTERBURY+BARRACKS+AND+BOQ+RENOVATION+-BP8+-
+2020.0820” page AD100 Note L calls out the demolition of interior walls. I do not see any interior wall demolition in drawings. What walls does this note refer to?
Answer: There are no barracks walls to be demolished. Note was a carryover from separate project, and is to be disregarded.
5. Can PEX/plastic piping be used for new interior water lines?
Answer: No. As all lines are surface mounted in high traffic, temporary quarters, PEX/Plastic is not allowed.
6. Specs “004_Phase+2_Project+Manual+Vol+2+of+2_19May20” call for countertop mounted lavatories, but plumbing fixture schedule in the drawings calls out wall mounted Lavatory.
Please confirm design intent.
Answer: Wall-mounted. Section 224216.13, Paragraph 2.1A, change "counter mounted" to "wall mounted"
7. This is in reference to metal roof panels.
The specifications and drawings continuously refer to matching the existing panel and color, but I was unable to find out what that panel and color was. Can you please let me know what the existing panel and color is on these buildings?
Answer: Fasteners will be used at the top and bottom of each panel to provide 90 MPH wind uplift rating. Fasteners will have gaskets and heads will be the same color as the roofing material. Previous color selections approved by with Contracting Officer’s representative, matched to American Building “Hemlock Green” (Manufactured by BASF Industrial Coatings and is compliant with Energy Star specification for 25% minimum reflectance) to match adjacent building that have recently reroofed.
8. Are the controls required to be factory installed?
Answer: Field or factory installed third party controls which meet all contract document requirements are acceptable. All equipment needs to be provided with a controller that meets the DDC controls spec. Within the DDC controls spec, the basis of design is Distech, and the contractor needs to provide a DDC controller at each piece of equipment.
9. I plan on hand carrying our bid in on September 9th. What time do I need to drop it off at the bid repository that morning, or can I just bring it to the bid opening meeting?
Answer: All bids must be received at the office by 1000 September 9.
