The items included in this Addendum are to become a part of the original Drawings and Project Manual dated May 19, 2020 as if included herein. Only these items are to be altered. The remainder of the original Drawings and Project Manual remain valid in their entirety.

PROJECT MANUAL

ITEM NO. 1. SECTION 102113.19 – PLASTIC TOILET PARTITIONS

a. Add this section to the project manual.

ITEM NO. 2. SECTION 211316– DRY-PIPE SPRINKLER SYSTEMS

a. All references to galvanized piping shall be revised to “Standard Weight, Black-Steel Pipe:

ASTM A 53/A 53M, Type E, Grade B. Pipe ends may be factory or field formed to match joining method.”

b. Add Paragraph 2.11: DRY-SPRINKLER SYSTEM NITROGEN GENERATOR WITH PURGE/VENT as follows:

A. “Dry-Sprinkler System Nitrogen Generator with Purge/Vent: Nitrogen generator system to serve dry sprinkler zones for piping corrosion mitigation, including system venting.

1. Manufacturers: Subject to compliance with requirements, provide products by one of the following:

2. Description: Nitrogen generator system for dry-sprinkler system providing required supervisory pressure within sprinkler zone. System is to include either an integrated, oil-less air compressor located within the nitrogen generator system package, or a separate vibration-isolation mounted air compressor, also provided by nitrogen generator manufacturer. The entire system shall be “plug and play” from the manufacturer and connect to the dry pipe air valve with a single field installed connection. The contractor shall be responsible for all field fabrication to integrate the nitrogen system with the dry pipe system.

3. Standards:

A. FM Approvals 1035.

B. UL 508A listed.

4. Nitrogen Generator:

A. Wall-mounted or skid-mounted nitrogen generator to provide minimum nitrogen purity of 98 percent to designated sprinkler systems.

B. Power: 120 V ac.

C. Bypass mode and nitrogen generating mode.

D. Minimum Capacity: As recommended by manufacturer.

5. Air Compressor:

A. Standard: UL's "Fire Protection Equipment Directory" or FM Global's "Approval

Guide."

B. Motor Horsepower: Fractional.

1) Power: 120 V ac, 60 Hz, single phase.

C. Sized for application and capable of achieving system supervisory pressure within

30 minutes in accordance with requirements of NFPA 13. Provide ASME air receiver tank as required to meet requirements on larger systems.

D. Include filters, relief valves, coolers, automatic drains, and gauges.

E. Minimum Capacity: Match capacity of nitrogen generator.

6. Automatic Purge Vent/Valve:

A. Vents oxygen during system nitrogen fill.

B. Automatically closes when 98 percent minimum nitrogen has been reached.

C. Sized to allow correct purge rate per manufacturer's written instructions and with

14 days.

D. Provide one venting device for each dry/pre-action sprinkler system zone.

E. Include a connection port for a portable nitrogen purity sensor or a nitrogen purity manifold.

7. Supervisory Gas Monitoring - Nitrogen Purity Sensing Device:

A. Portable Handheld Nitrogen Purity Sensing Device: Portable sensing device to connect to the outlet of the automatic purge/vent valve during periodic inspections to obtain a nitrogen purity reading within each zone.
