Questions and answers pertaining to the Blast Booth:

1. Did not see an attached drawing? ( for sizing / locations) Drawings to be uploaded.

2. Concrete floor shall be cut, excavated, formed and poured by contractor to match Reclaim floor / elevator pit requirements?

Coordination with corrosion control facility contractor required prior to pouring concrete.

3. Is this equipment to be NRTL field certified?

Yes NRTL is required.

4. Where is the electrical disconnect for the blast booth and what volts / AMPs?

See electric sheet for volts/AMPs – electrical disconnect will be located approx. 20’ from control panel.

5. Kst values for dust are?

Comply with NFPA.

6. Location and size of wet sprinkler tap?

See plumbing sheets.

7. What fire alarm / mass notification do you have?

Monaco MAAP X.

8. Breathing air source is where?

See plumbing sheets.

9. CO monitor to have remote explosion proof strobe and horn in the booth?

Yes.

10. Lights are to be T8 or LED? – LED are more expensive?

LED.

11. Lights are to be front or rear accessible?

Front.

12. Walls and roof are made of what materials – relative to vent piping penetrations?

The main hanger portion of the building will be a pre-engineered steel building system. The office and shop spaces will have CMU masonry backup with a split-face masonry veneer and EIFS exterior walls, with a steel framed roof.

13. Dust collector to be located inside or outside?

Dust collector will be located outside – see facility drawings.

14. Dust collector to exhaust to where?

Exhaust to exterior.

15. Separate HEPA filter required or an equal MERV 15 rating cartridge filter is acceptable?

MERV 15 rating cartridge is acceptable.

16. Dust collector velocity shall be 100 ft / min – very high – will suck all the blast media out of the booth?

Correction to velocity – quote for 50 ft/min.

17. Rubber liners on wall to be ¼”?

Rubber line walls to ¼”.

18. Pneumatic or electric deadman?

Pneumatic.

19. Emergency exit light over mandoor – battery back up?

Yes – battery back-up.

20. E stop at control panel and dust collector?

Yes - emergency stop at control pnl and dust collector.

21. Why is the paint booth different in size from the blast booth (16x12x30 vs 15x11x28).?

See facility drawing – rooms are slightly different dimensions.

22. Air hoist is to be full length of the booth?

Yes.

23. Training requirements? – we suggest min 4 hours class time, 4 hours hands on and 1 Full day of over site while they us / run the equipment.

Training – provide 4hrs class time and 4 hrs. hands on training. Provide one full day of over site while personnel run the equipment for the first time.

24. Manuals? We suggest 3 copies. Manuals are to be used with training to prove out the information is correct and relative.

Provide 3 copies of operational manuals – manuals will be used during the training.

25. Start-up / shutdown procedures? We suggest the actual start up procedure be written as part of training – doing it exactly as they do it in real life – once proven out – the procedure is laminated and place on the machine.

Start up and shut down procedures will be written, laminated and placed on the machine for personnel to reference.

27. Is this equipment to be NRTL field certified?

Yes NRTL is required.

28. Where is the disconnect for the paint booth and what volts / AMPs?

See electric sheet for volts/AMPs – electrical disconnect will be located aprox 20’ from control panel.

29. Where is the natural gas located, size and pressure?

See plumbing sheets – P-104.
