Firelake submits the following requests for information as they pertain to solicitation number W912JC-19-B-4000;

Bldg. 662 Repairs at Forbes Field AFB.

1. Exterior Door Replacement – During the site walk we noticed that the paint around the existing exterior door, which called out for replacement, was peeling off much like lead paint.

Is the government aware of whether any lead paint is present? If so, are bidders able to receive a copy of the test results?

Answer: Assume paint is lead based. Base is not requesting remediation of the LBP in this area, only that the contractor protect their employees against this hazard.

2. Rm 312 Floor Boxes – What are the existing conduit sizes feeding the current floor boxes?

What types of wire and their sizes are currently pulled into existing boxes?

Answer: Contractor shall not be required to replace any existing conduits, only install new wire in existing. Type of wire to be installed is CAT 6 communications wire.

3. Rm 312 Floor Boxes – If new conduits are to be added to provide a raceway for the new floor boxes, is the government able to provide the applicable carpet tile information (manufacturer, style, color, etc.) to match existing?

Answer: No new conduits are required in this area and carpet shall remain unmodified.

4. Rm 314 Junction Boxes – Please verify that the (2) 4x4 junction boxes to be added 12” AFF are for future communications wiring, not power.

Answer: Correct, the (2) 4x4 junction boxes shall meet code for communications cable only.

5. Additive Bid Item 0002.B – States contractor shall provide lock hardware and blank cores.

Please provide specific information as it relates to the blank cores to be provided (manufacturer, style, # of pins, etc.).

Answer: Contractor shall provide 6 pin Schlage lock cores with blank pins. Our base locksmith will install the specific pins inside the core once parts are delivered.

Thanks for you timely consideration to our questions.
