Expected Unit Access During Site Visit
For the solicitation W912EF-15-R-0044 site visit, the following are general accommodations during vendor access to the units:
Access into the turbine scroll case is not possible at this time due to unit operations. Ice Harbor will allow access to portions of the generator for inspections and measurements to the extent possible, as follows:
1. Applicable deck plates and a top air shroud will be removed to allow access on top of rotor to inspection end winding, circuit ring, leads
2. Access onto the lower bearing bracket under the rotor, for inspection of bottom end winding.
3. Access into the air housing
4. Spare Coils and Rotor laminations will be made available upon request, however no spare Stator laminations are available.
5. Viewing of available Government Furnished Property tools, lifting beams, spare parts, and new turbine components.
6. All entrants must wear a tyvek suit with hood attached, nitrile gloves, boots, and safety glasses/goggles. The Government will furnish the tyvek suit with hood and the gloves.
7. Once all access areas are evacuated by all entrants, the tyvek suits and gloves will be disposed of, in a manner that will be demonstrated, in a labeled bag to prevent the transfer of any material (asbestos fiber, carbon, oil, grease film) to the entrant's skin, clothing or belongings.
8. All equipment taken into the unit must be wiped down after exiting the unit to prevent contamination to the person's skin, clothing, etc.
