For
BLOCK III SATELLITE TRI-BAND ANTENNA
RFI # W912DT-17-T-0003
1. What is the definition of Remotely accessible Graphical Use Interface for Acquisition/Peak and Pol? Would this be a remote device on site or access from off-site via another means of communications?
a. Remotely accessible on site from inside a tent or shelter. BLUF, we need an interface that does not require the individual to be sitting outside with the terminal. Use of GUI (Graphic Use Interface) accessible through Laptop that can access the antenna function through the system network/subnet and not through a separate subnet or port on the antenna.
2. Is the 1.2m parabolic antenna size driven by transport requirements? If a larger aperture antenna meets the transport size and weight requirements, could it be submitted as a possible solution?
a. 1.2 or comparable up to 1.5 or so. Yes driven by transport requirements but suitable subs can be submitted. Also consider the environmental usage of the antenna. History has shown that lighter larger materials do not stand up to heavy wear and tear required by military applications.
3. What is the current version of the iDirect software operated at the hub location?
a. iDirect version used at HUB is IDX 2.3.1/IDS 11.2.1
4. Does a plan exist to migrate to iDirect version iDX 3.4 or higher at the hub locations?
a. Migration to iDX 3.4 must be Government approved version only. Currently approved iDX 2.3.1 is version in use. DISA Hubsite would have to have this current iDX version.
5. Are the number of transit cases limited to a specific quantity or to a specific weight per case?
a. Not really. 3 is preferable. No requirement for airline loadable. This is a ground haul or
MilAir package.
6. What is the source of AC power that provides the range of voltage and hertz specified?
a. Kubota 10K Diesel Generator 240VAC/120VAC 60Hz
7. Would an ARSTRAT-certified, FCC-licensed manual acquisition system without motors meet requirements?
a. While the package has RF Transmissions/Satellite experts there are occasions where non
SATCOM personnel may need to setup and acquire bird. Needs to be user friendly. Not Recommended if use of KU band application. If X-band application, the possibility of ASI (Adjacent Satellite Interference) is much less due to frequency spacing of X-band carrier.
