About this file
Kitchen Hood Inspection Report Summary
These are kitchen hood service and inspection reports for Building 780 at Schofield Barracks dated March 23, 2026. The reports document inspections of seven kitchen hood fire suppression systems (Kitchen Hoods #1-#7) by Kinetix Fire & Life Safety Experts, with service technician Eddie Brown performing the inspections under the authorization of SGT Jamie Felty. All systems are Ansul R-102 wet chemical suppression systems with 3-gallon master cylinders and corresponding slave cylinders, equipped with shunt trip electrical shut-offs and mechanical gas valves. The inspection dates are all March 23, 2026, at 08:00 hours, and each system was tested and inspected in accordance with NFPA 17, 17A, and 96 standards and manufacturer manuals.
Kitchen Hood #1 has a documented deficiency requiring corrective action: an (x6) electric burner was switched to an (x8) electric burner with incorrect nozzle coverage, requiring additional nozzles for proper coverage. This system was marked as non-compliant. Kitchen Hoods #2 through #7 all passed inspection with no discrepancies noted. Kitchen Hood #3 had minor observations regarding appliance positioning and heavy oil dripping from the duct (noted as cleanable). Systems #2, #4, #5, #6, and #7 have unreadable serial numbers for their master cylinders. All systems have hydrostatic test dates and last recharge dates of 2020, with fusible links quantities ranging from 0-5 units depending on the system configuration.
