3 Please provide as-built plans listed on sheet G-003 Drawing Index & References. Available as-builts were provided with Am-0002.
Reference 01 32 00, paragraph 3.2. Will the Contractor be paid for stored materials delivered to
Kwajalein? On some recent Kwajalein COE projects, the contractor was not paid for materials upon arrival to the island but instead had to carry the cost for stored materials until a copy of the cancelled check for such material was submitted and approved.
No, only in-place materials will be paid for.
Reference 01 32 00, paragraph 3.2. If the Contractor will be paid for stored materials, what documentation is required?
See answer to RFI 4.
Reference 01 32 00, paragraph 3.2. Will the Contractor be paid for overhead and profit on stored materials delivered to Kwajalein?
No.
Note 4 on G-007 says “One acre stockpile area, 0.5 acre man camp and 30-40k sf batch plant will be provided in the commercial/industrial area of the inland prior mobilization. See sheet G-004 for COSA location.”
a.) Addendum 1 – Figure 1 and drawings G-004 & G-005 do not show the 1-acre stockpile area. Please provide location.
b.) With the bulk quantities of import fill materials, concrete materials (cement, sand, aggregates), and others, we think the 1-acre stockpile will not be enough to stockpile/store these materials. Will the
Government consider providing a larger stockpile area closer to the project site?
c.) Addendum 1 – Figure 1 shows 150’x150’ batch plant site which is 22.5k sf area. G-007 Note 4 says
30-40k sf batch plate area. Please confirm the area of batch plant.

In response to Part 2.1.1 Pipe Pile (Section 31 62 16.19 Page 3): The specification refers to ASTM
A252, Grade 3 modified, with minimum Fy = 80 ksi. This is a very high minimum yield strength for pipe that will be difficult to source. Producing pipe with minimum yield strength 80 ksi will cause issues with forming and weldability. Please confirm if the owner will accept ASTM A252, Grade 3 modified, with minimum Fy = 60ksi in place of ASTM A252, Grade 3 modified, with minimum Fy = 80 ksi?
