ADDENDUM NO. 3
Renovation and Restoration of Building 13467
Drawings and Specifications 22 April 2016
The following clarifications, amendments, additions, deletions, revisions, and/or modifications are hereby made part of the Contract Documents, and change the original Contract Documents only in the manner and to the extent herein.
Please make the following changes/clarifications to the drawings and specifications.
DRAWINGS
CIVIL
CS100 – Reference Outdoor Storm Pump note. Added notes 10 and 11 and show routing for power to pump.
ARCHITECTURE
AD111 through AD114: Clarified the extent of notes 033 and 035 showing location of anticipated original quarry tile finish below existing floor finish.
AD142: Add note 081 pointing to dashed walls at located at ‘B6’-‘5’ intersection currently noted as 001. Note 081 to read as follows:
Remove existing masonry Chimney complete from floor up through roof. Infill opening in roof with wood plank decking to match existing thickness. Secure decking to existing framed opening with galvanized steel nails, of appropriately sufficient size and length. Add Southern Yellow Pine No. 2 or better 2x6 infill framing at 16” o/c maximum spacing to support decking. Connect ends of infill framing to existing headers using face-mounted hangers. Remove all flashing, fasteners and other roof accessories associate with the existing chimney which is to be removed. Remove all existing cut or damaged shingles. Lap shingles under existing shingles at high point and over existing shingles at low point and sides, per manufacturer’s written instructions. Provide shingles to match existing. Shingles shall be mineral granule-surfaced asphalt shingles, self-sealing, architectural dimensional, strip, fungus-resistant; weighing not less than 290 pounds per 100 square feet. Shingles will meet the fire resistance requirements of UL 790 for Class A and of UL 997 for wind. Product shall have a 30 year warranty. Basis of design product shall be “Oakridge Pro-40 AR Shadow Shingles” or approved equal. Color to be Terra Cotta. Field verify color match. Provide self-adhered, self-healing, 40 mil rubberized asphaltic weather barrier underlayment, complying with ASTM D 1790. Lap under existing barrier at high point and over existing barrier at low point and sides. Basis of design product shall be “Titanium”, or approved equal. Fasteners shall be aluminum or hot-dipped galvanized steel, Provide 3/8 to 7/16” head nails with 1/8” shank. Provide 1” wide staples with ¾” penetration for shingle attachment.
A-103: Key Note 162 “Typical Chain Link Fence” is shown running from the southeast corner of the existing elevator tower to the north face of the exterior wall along column line 4. This fence shall extend from the top of the concrete walk to the underside of the concrete floor deck above. Key Note 162 shall also apply to the fence shown running from the northeast corner of the existing elevator to a point 12’ to the north and then turning back east to the west face of the exterior wall along column line C3. This fence shall be 11’-0” high.
The security gate shown and noted as Key Note 162 and depicted in Detail 5/A-201 shall be 7’-0” high. A 4’- 0” high chain link panel shall be provided above the security gate to bring the total height to 11’-0” similar to that shown in Detail 1/A-201.
A-104: Add at end of note 103. “Refer to Detail 1/A-320.
A-101 THRU A-134: Revise Note 131 to add; “REFER TO DETAIL 7/A-481 FOR DETAILS OF INFIL”.
A-112 – at concrete floor infill in bay ‘2/3’-‘B3-B4’ add note 130 at location of stair penetration that was removed. Infill to be similar to that noted for ‘A’ wing and per detail 2/A-481.
A-131: All area hatched as infill should reference Key note 131 including “Open Office 3A23”.
A-481: Revise detail 5 to add notes for clarification on infill system. Add detail 7/A-481 for clarification of infill system.
A-701:Add general note regarding elevator cab finishes. General Notes as follows: Elevator cab to receive new finishes. Provide Car Top with wood material clad on both sides with a natural finish aluminum panel, Lexan suspended ceiling consisting of white translucent polycarbonate diffusers set in frames of extruded aluminum with fluorescent lighting fixtures, stainless steel wall panels, and RF-1 rubber flooring.
PLUMBING
PD110B: Revised floor plan to delete keynote #5.
PD111A-D: Revise Sheet Keynote 1 to state “Existing 6” Downspout to Remain.” Revised floorplans to show all downspouts as existing to remain.
PD112A-D: Revise Sheet Keynote 1 to state “Existing 6” Downspout to Remain.” Revised floorplans to show all downspouts as existing to remain.
PD113A-D: Revise Sheet Keynote 1 to state “Existing 6” Downspout to Remain.” Revised floorplans to show all downspouts as existing to remain.
P501: Revise sheet to delete the downspout detail.
ELECTRICAL
Light Fixtures Types A1 (2x4 Retrofit) and B1 (2x2 Recessed) are the only fixtures required to be sole sourced. As designed all existing 2x4 recessed fixtures are to be retrofitted with type A1. If any existing 2x4 recessed fixture is unable to be retrofitted the new 2x4 recessed fixture shall be sole sourced with the ILP
VOLA24-42WELD-UNIV-40-4000K.
SPECIFICATIONS:
04 01 20.70 UNIT MASONRY CLEANING AND RESTORATION: Remove the word “repointing” from paragraph 1.2.13. Delete paragraph 1.2.19 in its entirety
05 12 00- STRUCTURAL STEEL: Delete paragraph 1.3. Note: all work to comply with AISC standards.
08 14 00 WOOD DOORS: Modify language in section 2.3.5.1 to read “Factory prime or seal doors, and field touchup.”. Remove language regarding stain in section 2.3.5.2. Add the following to section 2.3.5.3 “Wood Doors to be oak natural finish with oil modified polyurethane to match as close as possible exsting wood doors to remain.”
08 71 00 DOOR HARDWARE: Add the following in reference to paragraph 2.3.2.1; “All new wood doors (wood doors only) shall receive cylindrical locksets/latchsets in lieu of the mortise locksets/latchsets specified. The function of the locksets/latchsets shall remain the same. All other door hardware specified shall remain the same.
09 90 00 PAINTS & COATINGS: Add the following criteria to section 3.1.2 Paint Table:

23 09 23.02 for BACNET DIRECT DIGITAL CONTROL FOR HVAC AND OTHER BUILDING CONTROL SYSTEMS : Delete all references to section 230900. Section 230900 is not used.
23 65 00 - Revise specification to removed any reference to specification 236426 from section 2.7.2 in specification 236500. Revise paragraph 2.7.2 to now states “The Cooling Tower water treatment systems shall be provided by the base water treatment system.”
Omit all references to Tridium controls in HVAC specifications. Trane Control is sole acceptable manufacturer.
