Question #10: Will all task orders be similar to the “seed” project, in that the repairs will all be in one location? Or can the > 500 SF consist of many repairs/locations.

Answer #10: While the seed project represents a common repair type, the Government reserves the right to issue a single Task Order across numerous locations and buildings which total > 500 SF. However, in accordance with the minimum and maximum constraints, no Task Order will be issued with a quantity of less than 500 SF.

Question #11: Will all task orders be similar to the “seed” project, in that the repairs will all be in one location? Or can the > 500 SF consist of many repairs/locations.

Answer #11: While the seed project represents a common repair type, the Government reserves the right to issue a single Task Order across numerous locations and buildings which total > 500 SF. However, in accordance with the minimum and maximum constraints, no Task Order will be issued with a quantity of less than 500 SF.

Question #12: Please confirm the acceptability of this system:

-Standard primer – 1st layer – discussed in epoxy specs.

-Stonclad GS mortar (1/4” thickness – discussed in specs) – troweled mortar.

-Stonseal PA7 – pigmented Urethane sealer – discussed in specs.

Answer #12: This flooring system adheres to the specifications set forth by the Government and aligns with anticipated requirements.

Question #13: A typical 250-mil system would consist of a primer, troweled mortar, and topcoat. The mortar is a mixture of a epoxy binder resin and aggregates (filler) that is trowel applied. The pricing sheet has line items for “filler with binder” and also “SEALER/RESIN (Based on 1/4” / 250MIL thick requirement)” These items both seem to apply to the mortar portion of the system. Can you explain what the difference in these are.

Answer #13: In accordance with the bid sheet, we have categorized the measurements into various units. In general, there are instances where we encounter voids within the flooring that extend approximately 3 to 5 inches into the concrete, which require repair. To address this issue, we will utilize a filler composed of a harder material mixed with sand or use concrete. Following the repair, we will proceed to install a 1/4-inch resin flooring layer.

Question #14: What work hours are permitted for the seed project/Building 16?

Answer #14: Offerors are referred to the PWS, section 1.4.6.1, which states “Historically, 75% of all epoxy repairs have been performed after 1630 Monday through Friday and during the weekends.” However, the seed project/Building 16 is an exception to this 75%, as work can be done outside these hours (i.e. can be performed during the day, during the week).
