13. For the sprinkler system, do you have any idea on the requirements you may have for if the system needs to have a DCVA or an RP? If an RP is needed we will need to install a hot box outside for the RP where the DCVA can be inside. Also, how close to the building is the fire main coming up to?

a. Response: A DCVA will be used in the fire riser assembly. Refer to the fire riser detail on

Sheet FP2.1.

14. Cleanout Detail: P1.0 Floor Plan – Demolition – Plan Note 2 states to cap piping below floor and install new cleanout at this location for future tie in. RFI: Can the Government provide a detail on how to cap and use cleanout.

a. Response: Refer to specification section 15400 Part 2 Products 2.6 Cleanouts for additional information.

15. Seal Coat: C1.0 Seal coat existing park spaces (Type. Of 5 Spaces). RFI: Is this the limit of seal coat at parking spaces. Are there any other parking spaces or paved areas to receive seal coating?

a. Response: No, only what is currently shown on the plans will receive a seal coat.

16. Sod Installation: RFI: C1.1 – Is seed and Straw acceptable in lieu of Sod?

a. Response: No

17. Raceways: E1.1 – Note #5 Calls out new rough in box. RFI: Are raceways surfaced mounted with thru wall penetration to the exterior?

a. Response: E1.1 Note 5 does not specifically require a box. Match existing installation appearance in a manner compliant with code. Bidder to verify field conditions prior to bidding.

18. Open Structure Area Fire Protection: FP1.1 Fire Protection Floor Plan – No heads are shown in

“open structure area”. RFI: Is this correct?

a. Response: No, refer to spec section 15500 Fire Protection and Sprinkler for the requirements of the system.

19. Stoops: General - Assume all stoops (other than noted A1.1 note 10) remain. RFI: Is this correct and are all stoops to code?

a. Response: Refer to Sheet C1.1 for coordination on the stoops.

20. Pavement Repairs in Rear Drive: During the Site visit it was observed that the existing rear drive was damaged and deteriorating. RFI: Is repair and replacement expected under this contract? If so, what is the quantity to assume for repair or replacement?

a. Response: No, the existing rear drive will not be addressed in the scope of this project.

21. The roof plan shows the existing roof to be demo-ed, but the roof section details show the existing roof is to remain and this new TPO system will cover over the top of the existing. Please clarify.

a. Response: The existing membrane roof system will be removed. A new TPO system will be installed.

NOTE: Asbestos was detected around two (2) of the skylights scheduled to be demolished. Refer to spec section 02080 Asbestos Removal and Appendix A for information.

22. Addendum 1 question #8 about the lighting protection system…. Will the system nee a new UL listing and can a drawing be provided to the extent of the work?

a. Response: Refer to Spec Section 16073 Part 1.1 Item C and Part 3 Execution Part 3.3

Item A. Existing System will require modification to accommodate new roof top HVAC equipment. Existing system will require recertification. Existing drawings are unavailable.

23. In Spec section 16010 (17) mentions lighting protection as section 16073. 16073 is not included in the electrical specs.

a. Response: Please refer previously posted amendment.

24. What is the thickness of the existing floor slab? Has it been cored?

a. Response: High Roof Areas - the existing slab is 6” with 6x6 W2.1 x W2.1 WWF in the per the record drawings. Low Roof Areas – the existing slab is 4” with 6”x6” W1.4 x

W1.4 WWF. No, the slab has not been cored.

25. Is the "CMU with the sand fill" loose or grout?

a. Response: Based on the notation on the existing plans it is assumed the sand is loose.

The legend indicates “Concrete Block Wall with Sand Filled Voids”

26. What are on-site supervision requirements for this project (Superintendent/QCM/SSHO) to include number/positions required and experience requirements?

a. Response:

Superintendent is required by the contractor at all time when any work is being performed on site. Refer to Spec Section 01040 Part 1 Section 1.4 Job Site

Administration.

The contractor will also be required to submit a site safety plan detailing how they will provide safety oversight. There is no prescribed minimum number of people for the contractor to perform this task.

Due to the size of this project, a separate QCM is not required if the GC can provide adequate quality control with the site superintendent and/or site safety officer.

27. Are there any materials to be recycled on base?

a. Response: No, there is no recycling on base. Contractor will be required to account for all demolished materials removed from site.

28. Will all furnishings be removed prior to turnover to contractor?

a. Response: Yes

29. Are there any items in the building to be removed/stored/turned over by contractor to the

GOV?

a. Response: All items listed to be demolished are to be removed by the contractor.

There are no items listed to be removed and turned over to the government.

30. Where can a jobsite office/laydown area be established? Are utilities (water/power/sewer) available at proposed laydown area and if so, will there be a cost or metering needed?

a. Response: Yes, refer to the Index Sheet (Construction Route Access Map) and spec section 01500 Construction Facilities and Temporary Controls for information.

31. Is temporary construction fencing required?

a. Response: No, but the contractor will be responsible for controlling access into the site.

32. Will there be a specific GOV and/or AE contact appointed for LEED coordination?

a. Response: The project will not be registered with USGBC but the contractor shall follow the LEED requirements in the specifications as much as practical.

33. Where and how does the return air grill mount for the assembly area and the gym area (RTU-

1&2&4) and at what elevation?

a. Response: Refer to revised sheets M1.1 and M3.1
