Question and Answers 1-12 25 June 2020

1. The Drawings show that you are using an Advantor system for the access control. Are you using the VMS integration for the cameras with this same system? If so, will you accept an alternate system? Will you accept an alternate system for access control?

a. Response: The Base standard is Advantor. The IT drawings are for Rough-in only. This security system is not part of the solicitation.

2. Information outlet type “TF” is shown on Comm Legend, drawing IT2.1. However, there are no type “TF” outlets shown on drawing IT1.1. Will subsequent addendums include the addition of one or more type “TF” comm outlet locations? (Specs Sec 13010 and 13020)

a. Response: Yes, see revised sheet IT1.1.

3. Communications rough-ins appear to be specified in Division 13010 and also in 16060.

Please confirm that communications rough-ins and cable tray will be furnished/installed by

Division 16 (EC). (Specs Sec 13010 and 13020)

a. Response: It shall be the general contractor’s responsibility to determine scope between sub-contractors.

4. If the installer is required to hold “Certified Installer Plus” status with their chosen connectivity partner (IE; Leviton, Panduit, etc.), should there still be a requirement for 30% of installer/technicians to hold a BICSI certification? (Specs Sec 13010 and 13020)

a. Response: This is a qualification exception question for contracting.

5. Please confirm if NEC type CMP (Plenum-rated) UTP cabling and OFNP/OFCP (Plenum-rated) fiber are required for this project. (Specs Sec 13010 and 13020)

a. Response: HVAC plans indicate ducted returns in all areas. Plenum rated cables only required where a plenum type HVAC return system is utilized.

6. Regarding fiber backbone connectivity, is there a preference for armored versus non-armored fiber optic cable? (Specs Sec 13010 and 13020)

a. Response: Preference for Armor on cables above 96 Strand count and non armored

96 strand count and below, unless cable is installed in such a manner as to subject it to physical damage.

7. It is assumed that device type “PJ” as shown on drawing IT1.1 is for a projector. Please provide a faceplate/workstation detail for device type “PJ” as shown on drawing IT1.1.

a. Response: See Detail A5 sheet IT2.1 Revised Legend to match.

8. The building has existing lightning protection. Will there be any modifications?

a. Response: The building has existing lightning protection. The new RTUs being installed will need to be bonded and connected to the existing lightning protection.

9. Will the Assembly room ceiling be painted?

a. Response: Yes. Refer to sheet A8.1 for the room schedules and note requiring the ceiling and new utilities to be painted black.

10. The boiler is being demolished, what about the hot water loop?

a. Response: Yes, the hot water loop is being demolished to the backflow preventer and replaced. Refer to sheet P1.0.

11. There is not information for the instant water heater on the schedule.

a. Response: Refer to detail “Gas Water Heaters Piping Schedule” on Sheet P2.1.

12. We would like to submit for approval a substitution for 09561-Resnous Flooring, RezChip from Chem-Rez, Inc

a. Response: Replace Spec Section 09651 Resinous Flooring with the attached specification section 09651 Resinous Flake Flooring.
