Where does trailer get positioned and who takes care of the electrical power connections to the trailer?

109th

Base CE

For staging, Contractor may use the area north of the project outlined in lime color in the figure below. For personal vehicles, the parking lot marked in orange can be used, but it is also used by the base personnel. The figures below show the current state of the area for staging. The containers, stones, and gravel pile will be moved before the construction starts. The area in purple can be used as a laydown yard but it has a steep slope. For the trailers’ electrical connections, Contractor may use base panels located near the staging area. Storage containers, trailers, and gravel piles will be removed this summer and will not be in the way of the staging area.

All the personnel accessing the base will need to go through AT Level 1 and

OPSEC training (approximately 15min-30min) and badging (approximately 1h).

Contractor shall submit paperwork for the employees’ background checks 3 days before the employees’ arrival to avoid delays or denial of access to the base. Without the badge, the employee will have to be continuously escorted.

If escort personnel is not available, the employee may be denied access to the site. Once the badge is issued, employee may show up at the gate for the period of construction without the need of escort.

On sheet C-104, the plans show the route 8" proposed waterline. It shows the

8x6" tee for the fire protection line. Then the 8" continues around the back of the building and then shows a 2" tap for the domestic feed, and then it shows the 8" entering the rear of the building. After checking the plumbing drawings, it shows no 8" entering the rear of the building. My question is, why are the plans showing the 8" around the back of the building? The 8" could end right after the

8x6 tee, use a 2" tapped plug on the end of the tee and go directly to the 2" service, unless the 8" has a purpose at the rear of the building. Please advise.

Civil

The proposed 8" waterline shall be 8" to the fire water connection, where a

8"x6" tee shall be installed. The 2" water service can be tapped at the 8"x6" tee and be run behind the building. A 2" tapped plug is acceptable at the 8"x6" tee.

The Bentonite waterproofing (specification 07 17 00) is kind outdated type waterproofing, no subcontractors want to bid it, claiming that they are stopped using Bentonite waterproofing many years ago. In nowadays the membrane waterproofing is in use. Please consider the membrane waterproofing instead, please provide the basis of design, specification or requirements.

Arch

The DOR does not agree with the assertion that bentonite waterproofing is out of date and no longer in use. In addition, there is an extremely small quantity of waterproofing required only at the Sim Bay signal and power trench which is created with concrete placed directly on 4” free-draining crushed aggregate.

In the DOR’s experience the overlapped geotextile fabric and gels are more easily and accurately located and remain in place during careful concrete placement.

Refer to Spec Section 01 33 00 – Submittal Procedures, paragraph 1.4.2.3.2

Substitutions, the contractor has the option, “after award”, to propose a substitute waterproofing product as long it is equal in function, performance, quality and salient features to that in the accepted contract proposal.

Item A - It shows a settling basin with a stand pipe, this pipe goes through a berm and surface drains on the sand filter at elev 365.90 which is shown on the detail sheet C-502. On that same detail it shows 2 layers which I assume is 3" of topsoil mix and a foot of sand. Right above that detail it shows a sand filter detail, which includes a 4" perf. pipe. yet on C-104 it's not showing a pipe running completely through that filter.

Item B - It shows a pipe elevation of 364.25 and the pipe is at the end of the filter and it appears to daylight in the dry detention basin at elev. 364. On the cross section page C-502 of the sand filter detail it's showing an impermeable liner surrounding the sand layer. I guess I'm confused with this detail. Is there an impermeable liner under the complete sand filter? It's not clearly defined.

Can you give us an answer as to what the engineer's intent is in these areas?

Civil

Item A - The perforated riser pipe within the forebay should be 6” diameter

PVC with an open top to allow for overflow. The forebay shall be topsoil with vegetative cover and no sand layer.

Item B - The 4” perforated underdrain runs the length of the sand filter as shown on the Sand Filter Detail, this is not shown on C104 but the information on the detail applies. The 4” perforated underdrain within the sand filter shall have a fitting and connection to the 4” solid wall discharge pipe that daylights to the downstream detention basin as shown on Sheet C104. Yes there is an impermeable liner under the sand filter. The design intent is to maintain the storage volume for the stormwater BMP due to the concern for high groundwater.
