About this file

This document is a Contractor Submitted Questions and Government Answers (Q&A) for federal solicitation W15QKN26QA112 regarding washer and dryer replacement at Devens. Posted on August 12, 2026, the Q&A addresses four key contractor inquiries regarding equipment installation and pricing submission requirements.

The Government clarified that existing dryer venting ducting is in place, and contractors must supply new flexible ducting to connect the dryers to the ventilation system. Current equipment footprints accommodate standard commercial-sized (non-stacked) washers and dryers without room modifications. Existing infrastructure includes hot and cold water taps, drains, 120-volt outlets for washers, 240-volt 3-prong outlets and ventilation ducts for dryers. Contractors are responsible for providing all hoses, power cords, drain/vent hoses, and power cables. The Government directed contractors to reference the Statement of Work (SOW) for all salient equipment characteristics and confirmed that no additional dimensional or load specifications beyond standard commercial-grade machine specifications are required. All existing dryer outlets are 3-prong, making contractors responsible for providing appropriate power cords. For pricing submission, offerors must submit bids directly on Standard Form (SF) 1449, the official solicitation document, with prices broken out according to Contract Line Item Numbers (CLINs) listed in Section B. No separate pricing sheet is required or permitted.

Solicitation: W15QKN26QA112 - Devens RFTA Washer & Dryer Replacement

Contractor Submitted Questions and Government Answers #2- Posted 12AUG2026

Question 1: Dryer venting. Are the existing dryer positions already vented, and will the new units connect to the existing venting as-is, or should we allow for new ducting?

Answer 1: Existing ducting is in place, though the contractor shall supply new flexible ducting to attach from the dryer to the ventilation.

Question 2: Footprint. Are the units being removed of comparable footprint and connection type to standard commercial replacements, such that the new equipment seats in the existing positions without modification to the rooms?

Answer 2: The footprint of the current washers and dryers should be sufficient for standard sized commercial washers and dryers (not stacked). There are hot and cold taps, drains and 120v outlets for the washers, and 240v 3-prong outlets and ventilation ducts for the dryers. Contractor is expected to supply all hoses and power cords to fill, drain/ vent hoses and power cables for all units.

Question 3: Please provide detailed specifications for the top load washers and standalone electric dryers you require. To include size of unit needed ( L x W x H). size of load required, size of electrical cord required for dryers (4 prong or three prong and length required).

Answer 3: The Government has provided all salient characteristics for the required equipment in the Statement of Work (SOW). There are no additional specifications for dimensions (L x W x H) or load size beyond what is standard for a commercial-grade machine of this type. All existing dryer outlets are 3-prong; offerors are responsible for providing the appropriate power cords.

Question 4: Please provide a pricing sheet so BBE can provide their bid. BBE can simply send contracting BBE's price per washer and per dryer to include delivery, and installation. a separate cost will be included for the removal of the old units.

Answer 4: Offerors shall submit their pricing directly on the Standard Form (SF) 1449, which is the official solicitation document. A separate pricing sheet is not required. Prices must be broken out according to the Contract Line Item Numbers (CLINs) as listed in Section B of the solicitation.
