STATEMENT OF WORK
Devens RFTA Washer & Dryer Replacement
PR# 12424974
Project Title: Devens Washer & Dryer Replacement For: Devens DPTMS, Devens RFTA, MA
1 Background: Nearly 80% of the washers and dryers currently available at the installation are either inoperable, damaged or barely functional. This presents a sanitation and hygiene challenge to soldiers staying in the barracks, particularly over their annual training cycle.
Replacement of the washers and dryers has been piecemeal throughout the years, resulting in various models of washer and dryers ranging in age from 6 to 24 years old in the 11 laundry rooms located throughout billeting. Purchasing all new washers and dryers will provide a consistent experience throughout the post and alleviate replacing more of washers and dryers as the remainder of the old machines breakdown. New, high-grade appliances consisting of metal parts and tubs as well as belt-driven transmission systems will last longer and be easier to repair over electronic-heavy systems with plastic parts and offer a safer and more hygienic environment for training soldiers.
2 Scope/Objective: Purchase, replacement, removal and disposal of washers and dryers for personnel training at Devens Reserve Forces Training Area.
2.1 Scope: This Statement of Work (SOW) requires procurement for all materials, equipment and labor for the installation, removal, and disposal as necessary of all washers and dryers delivered to Devens RFTA.
