Standing Operating Procedure (SOP)

b. Supplies and Equipment (other than major end items). Units having unserviceable recoverable items will submit a Maintenance Request, requesting “TI for turn-in”. Items going to Central Turn-in may be classified while the customer waits if shop workload allows. IMNE-LNW-LGM 10 October 2010 SUBJECT: Logistics Readiness Center (LRC), Maintenance Division, External Standing Operating Procedure (SOP) 18 Warning: Verify revision is current prior to use. The information contained in this document is controlled. Only current controlled versions are complete and have the most up to date information. Users are responsible to properly dispose of obsolete copies. Inspection and classification of items with a maintenance repair code of “F”, "O" or "Z" is the unit’s responsibility, based on the unit’s maintenance capabilities.

2-23. On-Site Inspection/Repair Support. On-site inspection and repair service for equipment requiring maintenance or classification may be provided upon request when determined to be the best means of providing this support. On-site inspection and repairs will be requested, coordinated and conducted using the following guidelines:

a. Supported units can request an on-site inspection/repair by submitting a Maintenance Request to the Shop Service Office building 33, or call telephone: DSN 4- 4487, commercial 973-724-4487.

b. Decision to perform on-site inspection and repair will be made by the shop supervisor or inspector at the time of acceptance of the Maintenance Request. The unit will be notified immediately when the inspection cannot be performed on-site. Decision to perform on-site inspections will be based on availability of inspection personnel, time required and type of equipment to be inspected.

d. The customer will be informed of action(s) necessary for items that cannot be repaired on-site by contact maintenance support. Normally these items are delivered to the applicable delivery point (paragraph 2-9). If the items cannot be repaired on-site, the Maintenance Request for on-site inspection will be closed out and the new one opened when the item is delivered to the shop.

2-24. Standard Deadlines. Due to the variety of standard and commercial equipment on Picatinny Arsenal, a standard deadline list is compiled for customer use in ANNEX D. This list is designed for use on cars and trucks. The standard deadline list is used to help users identify deficiencies that would cause a vehicle to be inoperable when an operator manual is not present. Any deficiency that meets dead-lining criteria will require notification to Transportation Motor-pool office (TMP) building 240 or call 4- 2049, (973)724-2049.
