About this file
This document contains the specifications for Tier 3 GPS radio-collars for the Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW). The Tier 3 radio-collars must be capable of collecting a minimum of 6 GPS locations per day with a battery life of 36 months, and include a mortality sensor and optional drop-off mechanism. Optional features include a virtual fence and the ability to collect data from nearby UHF-enabled devices. The data will be available in real-time via the Iridium satellite network and accessible through a web-based portal. This requirement is associated with a state and local contract opportunity for Wildlife Tracking Collars, which includes the jurisdictions of Washoe County and the City of Reno. The pricing for the optional items will not be considered in the bid award, and the state may choose to order these items separately on an as-needed basis. The vendor must provide a metal tag/label to be secured on the collar with contact information for the Nevada Department of Wildlife.
