About this file
This document contains the specifications for Tier 1 GPS survival collars for the Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW). The collars must be capable of transmitting two GPS locations per day with a battery life of 48 months and include a mortality sensor. The collars will collect and store additional GPS data that will be available in real-time via the Globalstar or Iridium network and accessible through a web-based data portal. The contract opportunity is for the State of Nevada, specifically Washoe County and the City of Reno.
The Tier 1 collars must meet specific requirements for GPS fix schedules, satellite systems, VHF frequencies, mortality mode, and battery life. They must also include programming options, a web-based data portal, and an identification tag. The document also lists optional items such as a drop-off feature and an expandable collar section. Pricing for the optional items will not be considered as part of the bid award, and the State may order them on an as-needed basis.
