SECTION 1. SCOPE
1.1 INTRODUCTION
This document establishes a protocol by which the Battle Management System (BMS) 105mm Gun Weapon System (GWS) Trainable Gun Mount (TGM) is modified for installation of the Pressure Seal Cage. The Forward Vertical Pressure Seal Support 102237 is modified using the Pressure Seal Drill Jig 115209. Then it provides the proper procedures for installing the Outboard Pressure Seal Cage Bracket 115444, Inboard Pressure Seal Cage Bracket 115472, Seal Interface Plate (.25) Upper Shim 115443, and Spring Loaded Rod Assemblies 115265-3 with the associated hardware. The Outboard Pressure Seal Cage Bracket 115444, Inboard Pressure Seal Cage Bracket 115472, Seal Interface Plate (.25) Upper Shim 115443, and Spring Loaded Rod Assemblies 115265-3 are products of the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division
(NSWCDD).
1.2 PURPOSE
The purpose of this document is to instruct the user on the proper method to modify the Pressure Interface Installation Kit 110048 to discourage 105mm Pressure Seal 107196 from binding with recoiling components of the 105mm Gun Unit 110054 during actuation of the 105mm Trainable Gun Mount.
