About this file
This is a Supplemental General Conditions document for Facilities issued by Sarasota County, Florida, dated June 21, 2023, which modifies the standard General Conditions for the South County Fleet Renovation construction project. The supplemental conditions address contractor requirements, pre-construction activities, and miscellaneous provisions applicable to the renovation and improvement of the existing South County Fleet maintenance and support facilities. The document removes certain standard clauses and introduces new requirements governing contractor conduct and responsibilities throughout the project duration.
Key modifications include restrictions on contractor assignment of the contract to third parties without County approval, though subcontracting is permitted with County authorization. The document removes Section 4.6 from the standard General Conditions regarding pre-construction activities. A critical new provision establishes that the Contractor bears sole responsibility for fire alarm system activation and will be charged at the Fire Department's current response rate for any unauthorized alarm activations resulting in Fire Department dispatch, with such charges withheld from the Contractor's payment applications. These supplemental conditions supersede conflicting standard General Conditions provisions and establish specific operational and financial accountability measures for the contractor performing work on this County facilities project.
