About this file
This is a streetview photograph of a job site for the Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) at the Sylmar Satellite Facility located at 909 Telegraph Road, Rising Sun, Maryland 21911. The image provides a visual reference of the facility where a new 42,000 BTU three-zone mini split HVAC system is to be installed, consisting of one 9,000 BTU unit for the office, one 9,000 BTU unit for the meeting room, and one 24,000 BTU unit for the loader bay. The photograph was included in the invitation for bids to allow prospective bidders to evaluate site conditions and plan their installation approach accordingly.
Prospective bidders are encouraged to use the streetview image in conjunction with on-site inspections to develop accurate bids for this project. Bidders must be licensed HVAC companies with three references demonstrating experience with ductless mini split installations. The scope includes removal of an existing through-wall air conditioning unit in the meeting room, preparation of wood and drywall surfaces to close and seal the resulting exterior wall opening, and all necessary electrical work to be performed by a licensed electrician. Bidders may subcontract the electrical portion to another small business or maintain the work in-house if they employ a licensed electrician on staff. The bidder must pull all required electrical permits and submit a single lump sum price that includes all labor, materials, permits, and electrical costs. SHA District 2 maintains a safety compliance employee who may conduct unannounced site visits to verify OSHA and Maryland Occupational Safety and Health (MOSH) compliance.
