Sports Bid Packet Summary
This bid packet is related to a Water Valve Replacement project in Spalding County, Georgia, and contains multiple state and local contract opportunities across Georgia jurisdictions. The primary project involves sealed bids from GDOT-prequalified prime contractors for paving, resurfacing, and striping work on eight roadways totaling approximately 6.73 miles under the TSPLOST Resurfacing Phase IA project (RFP 2023-003). The scope of work includes patching with recycled asphalt concrete, leveling, overlay paving, pavement markings, traffic control, mobilization, and valve box adjustments on roadways including Musgrove Road, Dale Drive, Hamilton Boulevard, Dundee Lake Circle, Lakewood Drive, Northside Drive, Camden Road, and North Hill Street. The project requires approximately 5,611 tons of material for patching and overlay work, with contractors required to apply 165 pounds per square yard of 9.5mm Type I asphalt and mill patching areas to three inches depth. Work is scheduled Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to dusk, with Saturday work permitted upon authorization. Contractors must commence work within fifteen calendar days of Notice to Proceed and complete all work within ninety calendar days, with Notice to Proceed issued no later than November 15, 2022. Bids were due October 11, 2022. Addendum No. 1, issued September 21, 2022, provided revised bid tabulation, bid forms, roadway specifications, and detailed patch measurements.
All work shall comply with GDOT Standard Drawings and Standard Specifications, and all materials must be sourced from GDOT-certified suppliers. Only GDOT-prequalified prime contractors are eligible to bid, serving as the controlling qualification filter. The contractor must haul millings to Spalding County's property on Justice Boulevard and install temporary striping on all roads. Spalding County Public Works will handle shoulder building, repaint patch markings as needed, adjust water main valve boxes to grade, and manage debris removal from valve boxes. Project funding derives from Transportation Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (TSPLOST) revenue. All prices quoted must be F.O.B. destination and include all charges for delivery unless otherwise specified. Bids must be submitted using CPA's form and can be emailed to bids@cpa4schools.com or mailed to PO Box 217, Cleveland, GA 30528 (or UPS/FedEx to 1041 South Main Street, Cleveland, GA 30528).
