STATEMENT OF WORK

Project Number VBDZ252200

Repair Bldg 2A Sewer Line, Restrooms, and Lockers

DESCRIPTION:

The building’s sewer line exhibits bowing and cracking causing monthly clogs and seepage into the soil. Approximately 76 LF of 4” sewer line, 16 LF of lateral lines, 27 fixtures (toilets, urinals, sinks, showers) need to be replaced within the building and approximately 50 LF of 8” clay line to be replaced outside the building up to the manhole per Uniform Plumbing Code. The existing sewer line runs both within the building and across the road, connecting to the manhole. The bathrooms and the office affected by the sewer line repair need repair and upgrading. Female bathroom and restroom area is approximately 807 SF, male bathroom and restroom area is approximately 650 SF, male locker room is approximately 1,200 SF (OPTION 2), the lounge area (including smaller rooms) is approximately 1,500 SF. The corridor (OPITON 1) is approximately 2,784 SF. Contractor to verify dimensions and shapes. Site visit is strongly encouraged. The work shall begin in October/November 2026. The building will stay operational during the construction.

Asbestos is present in the mastic and the tile backer board under the tile in the Man’s and Women’s lockers. Showers and latrines went through renovation in early 2000s and asbestos is not anticipated. Asbestos has been removed from the corridor, and it is not anticipated. Lounge went through renovation in 2022 and asbestos is not anticipated.

Base will move the lockers out before the construction and move them back in after the construction. Photos of the existing conditions are at the bottom of the document.

Drawings are provided as a reference only and they are not likely to be accurate.

1.2. Coordinate with the Base to accurately locate and mark underground utilities in the work area at least a week before the work begins. Utilize "Call Before You Dig" services (e.g.,

811) and potholing as needed to verify utility locations.

1.2.1. Utilities cross under the road toward the manhole. Utilities map will be provided after the award.

1.3. Perform asbestos abatement of the Women’s locker rooms following State and Federal regulations. Provide asbestos abatement proposal for the Male Locker as OPTION 2.

1.5. Provide necessary means to isolate dust and debris from the rest of the building. The building will stay operational during the construction.

1.6. Excavate and/or trench down to the sewer pipe. Hand digging may be required to not damage adjacent utilities.

1.7. Disconnect the existing sewer lines from the building plumbing and cap it securely to prevent sewer gases from entering the building.

1.8. Install new main 4” SCH40 PVC pipe in the building and 6” SDR35 pipe outside the building.

1.8.1. Slope shall be no less than 0.25 inch per foot. Slope verification will be required.

1.8.2. Minimum pipe depth shall be below the frost line. A drop may be required.
