About this file

This document is Addendum No. 6 to Solicitation K00R2600137 issued by the State of Maryland. The addendum provides revised responses to questions received, specifically regarding the weight of three steel spud utility deck barges that are part of the contract. Based on a review of historical documentation, the Maryland Department of Natural Resources estimates the weights of the barges as follows: "Barge 'Baltimore' weighs 139-tons, Barge 'Chesapeake' weighs 180-tons, and Barge 'Cambridge' weighs 185-tons." These weights are considered estimated approximations only.

The related state and local contract opportunity is for sand/steel, grit/wet blasting, modifying, repairing, and other restoration services on the three steel spud utility deck barges, as recommended by a Marine Surveyor. The contract is for the State of Maryland.

SOLICITATION K00R2600137

ADDENDUM NO. 6

January 9, 2023

Responses to Questions Received

1. What is the weight of each barge?

REVISED RESPONSE: After a thorough research of all documents archived, which included the original U.S. Coast Guard Form CG-1261 of the Builder’s Certification, dated March 10, 1999 and the original American Bureau of Shipping Certification of Classification, dated March 31, 1999, a weight for each barge is not officially known. However, Maryland DNR estimates the following;

Barge ‘Baltimore’ weighs 139-tons.

Barge ‘Chesapeake’ weighs 180-tons.

Barge ‘Cambridge’ weighs 185-tons.

These weights should be considered estimated approximations only.
