About this file
This is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) document for Amendment 01 to federal contract 377978 for Vibration Rotational Analysis Services. The document addresses ten potential offeror questions regarding project scope, equipment, and service requirements.
Key project requirements include vibration analysis services for approximately 180 pieces of rotating equipment at Fermilab, subject to change upon completion of PIPII. The equipment encompasses both vertically and horizontally mounted water pumps, fans, and motors located at multiple facility locations. Offerors must provide their own sensors, gateways, PLC, and SCADA systems; Fermilab will not supply these items. Services require monthly onsite visits with time-variant durations based on equipment type, with specific inspection frequencies detailed in the attached "Rotating Equipment Quarterly Inspection List 2026." The contractor must deliver data and written reports on vibration analysis findings. Only existing reports are available as reference material; historical vibration data is not provided. The Q&A clarifies that inspection frequency information referenced in the Statement of Work as "Attachment A: FermiLab Rotating Equipment List" is contained in the "Rotating Equipment Quarterly Inspection List 2026" document, and that Exhibit 3 contains the rotating equipment list with asset identifiers, descriptions, building, floor, and room information.

Amendment 01: 377978, Vibration Rotational Analysis Services
Potential Offeror Questions
1) Can you advise if Fermi has their own Sensors and Gateways for this project, or will they require those as well (and if so, how many)? Fermi does not provide sensors or gateways for this project.
2) Will we be using your PLC and SCADA systems? Negative, contractor will use their own equipment.
3) Do you want data and report outs on the data? Yes.
4) Estimated number of assets/equipment to be analyzed? Around 180 pieces of equipment, subject to change once PIPII is done.
5) Type of rotating equipment included in the scope? Both vertical and horizontal mounted water pumps, fans and motors.
6) Expected duration of onsite work? Monthly visit, time variant for equipment. See attached document titled, “Rotating Equipment Quarterly Inspection List 2026.”
7) Will the work will be performed in a single location or multiple areas within the facility? Multiple locations throughout the site.
8) What is the availability of existing vibration data or historical records? Just reports, not data.
9) In the SOW (Exhibit 2) it says:
1. Vibration analysis shall be performed at frequencies indicated on Attachment A: FermiLab Rotating Equipment List."
There does not appear to be an "Attachment A: FermiLab Rotating Equipment List". There is an "Exhibit 3.Fermilab Rotating Equipment List.pdf", however the columns in the table in this document are:
Is the inspection frequency information in a different Exhibit?
10) We were unable to find the required service frequency. Could you please provide this or clarify how often the data collection should take place?
Both #9 and 10 should be answered by the attachment, “Rotating Equipment Quarterly Inspection List 2026.”
