About this file
This is a Technical Specification (Section 03 30 53) for Cast-in-Place Concrete for a Parking Garage Tendon Repair Design project at the Columbus VA Medical Center (VAMC) in Columbus, Ohio, dated 18 Jul 2025. The specification provides detailed requirements for concrete materials, placement, finishing, curing, and quality control, with a focus on repair and replacement of concrete surfaces.
Key technical requirements include using specific prepackaged repair mortars from manufacturers like MBS/Sika, Euclid, King, and MAPEI, with precise performance specifications such as compressive strength requirements (3,000-5,000 psi at various cure times), horizontal and vertical application capabilities, and bond strength standards. The document outlines rigorous testing protocols, including compressive strength and bond testing by an independent testing agency, with strict acceptance criteria that patches must meet minimum strength requirements and be free of defects like shrinkage cracks or hollowness. The specification covers everything from material selection and preparation to final surface finishing and quality assurance for the concrete repair work.
