About this file
This is a Brand Name Justification document for procurement request 36C24525B0001, requesting approval to specify the Identiv-Hirsch Card Reader System for a VA hospital's Physical Access Control System. The justification cites FAR 11.105(a)(1) and 36.202(c), stating that this particular brand name system is essential because it is already installed at the facility, and implementing a different system would require integrating new hardware throughout the hospital and doubling maintenance costs.
The document indicates that the Hirsch brand name is specified in both the project drawings and project specification system 28 13 00 for Physical Access Control System. The document requires signatures from both the Contracting Officer (CO) and Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) for approval. This justification is part of a larger project to renovate Building 500 into a Patient Business Center at Martinsburg, WV for the Department of Veterans Affairs.
