About this file
This document is a Justification and Approval (J&A) for Other Than Full and Open Competition for the Department of Veterans Affairs' Update Signage and Wayfinding project at the Iowa City Veterans Affairs Health Care System (VAHCS). The solicitation is for a firm-fixed price contract set aside for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses, specifically seeking signage from ASI Sign Systems, Inc. as the sole source provider to maintain consistency with existing facility signage.
The project covers signage for buildings 1, 2, 16, 40, 41, 49, and 50, including directional and room identification signs that meet accessibility standards. The justification highlights that ASI Sign Systems is the only known vendor compatible with the existing operational system, including specialized barcoding for room classification. The total procurement will ensure matching signage throughout the campus for ease of maintenance and navigation, with the goal of providing a comprehensive wayfinding system that supports veterans' ability to navigate the medical facility efficiently.
