Fishers Lane Conference Center and Bio-Visualization Lab Audiovisual Upgrades Solicitation ID: RFQ-NIAID-2102124

I. VIRTUAL SITE VISIT QUESTIONS

Q1: (1D10 Lobby and 1D11 Pre-Function) It’s hard to tell, but can you confirm there is blocking for the 98” display?

A1: Yes

Q2: (LD15 Break Out Area) There is no LD15 tab in Attachment 2?

A2: The monitor in LD15 is part of digital signage. You can find it under the Digital Signage tab in Attachment 2.

Q3: (LD20A and LD20B Divisible Conference Room) Are the RP visual mounts provided by others or are they in the AV contractor’s scope?

A3: They are not within the AV contractor’s scope. They are provided by the General Contractor and will be installed by the General Contractor.

Q4: (LD20A and LD20B Divisible Conference Room) Can we get the exact RP visual model numbers with any accessories (i.e. tilt, compartment, etc.)

A4: RP Visuals Thin X-Arm Wallmate 32 kit.

Q5: (LD20A and LD208 Divisible Conference Room) How will the Earthworks M30 microphones be used in this space?

A5: They will be used strictly for reference monitoring. No other use.

Q6: (LD40 Conference Room) Will all PoE+ devices (i.e. AutoTracker 3, NVX) be powered by government furnished switches?

A6: Yes

Q7: Is there a rough construction schedule available showing desired completion date?

A7: The construction schedule is not directly correlated and not dependent upon the AV schedule. These are two separate efforts. Construction is expected to be completed by March 2022. This is a rough estimated. NIAID expect completion of this AV project by the end of September 2022 or sooner.

Q8: Will this Q&A be published later?

A8: Yes it will be published by Monday, January 3, 2022.

Q9: (LD51 AV Equipment Room) Has a KVM been specified?

A9: There is a KVM specified in the Bill of Materials. NIAID intends to use for both KVM and KM switching via NVX.

Q10: Will there be a storage area for receiving shipped equipment and staging equipment?

A10: NIAID does not have a storage area for this effort. The selected contractor will be required to store equipment. NIAID will inspect the equipment and offsite build at the contractor’s facility prior to installation at the Fishers Lane Conference Center.

Q11: Will all infrastructure cables be terminated and tested by others?

A11: Only telecommunication infrastructure cabling. AV Cabling that is the responsibility of the AV contractor is called out in draft pre-build drawings (TA-300 series).

Q12: Will all cables provided by other be labeled by others as well?

A12: Yes

Q13: And tested as well?

A13: Yes

Q14: Will the AV contractor be developing and maintain the AV drawings?

A14: Yes, NIAID AV will be providing draft pre-build AutoCAD drawings to the winning AV contractor. These drawings include the cabling numbers for existing structured cabling connections but do not include new cable numbers installed as part of the structured cabling contractors’ scope as we have not received the cabling numbers as of today. The awarded contractor to further develop the pre-build drawing and work with NIAID to produce final as-builts.

Note: Room PCs that are currently being shown in the TA300 series drawings located in LD50 are being relocated to LD51. This move will be reflected in the revised AutoCAD drawings provided to the awarded contractor.

Q15: (LD51 AV Equipment Room) As Attachment 2 shows four racks on LD51 can you confirm the AV contractor is to provide? Or will that be GFE since you show one onsite already? Just to clarify.

A15: The AV contractor is to provide the four racks.

Q16: Will any AV infrastructure and/or devices need to be integrated into new furniture (i.e.

conference tables)? If so, is there a furniture contractor that the AV contractor would need to coordinate with?

A16: NIAID will provide the control consoles and wiring will be done by the AV contractor.

Q17: The question regarding furniture was pointed more towards conference tables (not control room furniture) for the reasons of possible delays.

A17: No wiring is required for the conference room furniture as they are modular and configurable. The room uses are concierge-based and arranged according to the needs of each meeting host. Tables are subtracted or added as needed during pre-meeting set up.

II. VIRTUAL SITE VISIT ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
